About
Home/Company

We started because every quote needed a shutdown.

The founder spent eleven years doing panel work in operating plants before this company existed. The recurring problem was never the hardware — it was that the only way to instrument a distribution board was to isolate it, and no plant manager with a customer penalty clause was going to agree to that. DOUBLENING exists to make the metering fit the board that is already running.

The short version

We designed the constraint first.

Most industrial IoT companies start with a platform and then look for somewhere to install it. We started from the opposite end: a plant that will not stop, a board that cannot be isolated, a gateway cabinet with no space and no network drop, and a maintenance team that has been promised forty dashboards before.

The first product was a DIN breaker with metering and a latching remote trip, built on a split-core CT so it could go onto a live feeder. It took four failed prototypes to get there, mostly because latching trip on a breaker that a plant will actually trust is a different problem from a relay that clicks.

Hardware is engineered in Shenzhen, where the supply chain for this class of device is, and integrated, configured and supported from Arcadia. That split is deliberate and it is on the page rather than buried in a footnote — a plant engineer will ask where the board was made, and the answer should not be a surprise.

How these numbers are counted. Figures refer to commissioned, invoiced work up to Q3 2026. Energy savings are measured against a metered pre-installation baseline taken on the site's own utility data, not modelled from a catalogue. Where sites differ enough that one number would mislead, a range is given instead. If a figure is a design target rather than a measured result, the page says so.

How it works

Factory to commissioned site, in four moves.

01 / SPECIFY

Written into the factory order

Breaking capacity, metering class, isolation rating, terminal plating and the Modbus register map are all fixed in the factory order. A "smart breaker" with a different CT is a different product, so the specification is what we buy against — not a marketing page.

02 / TEST

Per lot, against a real load

Every production lot is sample-tested for metering accuracy across 10–120% of rated current and for trip behaviour at the specified breaking capacity. The failure that ends a project is a 4% metering error that invalidates the baseline, not a spec sheet figure at full load.

03 / CONFIGURE

Bench-configured before it ships

Gateways arrive with the site's tag model loaded, firmware flashed and the register map matched to the devices in the crate. Commissioning on site is then a mapping exercise, not a configuration project.

04 / SUPPORT

Answered by someone who has wired one

The support desk is staffed by people who have worked in a live panel. Nine calls in ten are about protocol mismatch or CT sizing, and both are answered with one question about the existing installation.

Who you are buying from

Twenty-five people, and the engineers answer the phone.

Six in Arcadia — the projects desk, integration engineering and finance. Nineteen in Shenzhen across hardware design, firmware and test. There is no reseller between you and the people who wrote the firmware. The chief executive is Ningning Li; on a project that goes wrong, the escalation stops with the chief executive, not with an account manager.

Open Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 18:00 Pacific. Contracted sites get a 24/7 number with a response time written into the agreement, because a cold room alarm does not wait for Monday.

This is the list the catalogue is specified against, not a claim that every SKU carries every mark. Type test reports are issued per production lot: quote the lot number and we send the matching report, plus a country-of-origin declaration for the assemblies you receive. Any figure we cannot evidence, we do not print.
